About Squirrel's Bavarian Nuts
Squirrel’s was established when Wayne & Patricia Bromley-Norton introduced the concept of Bavarian Roasted nuts to South Africa in 2005.
The nuts are roasted on site in a copper kettle, and glazed with a secret recipe of sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Throughout the process of roasting, the nuts emanate a very pleasant aroma.
We offer six types of high quality tree nuts - including pecan nuts, cashew nuts, hazelnuts, almonds, macadamias, peanuts and giant peanuts.
We have a production facility based in Hilton, PMB, where the packaged product is produced. The Squirrel’s brand is well-established throughout KZN, and the Squirrel’s range of nuts is available at a variety of outlets throughout the province.
We were awarded “Snack Food of The Year 2007” in conjunction with BBC Food and the Sunday Times.
Our customers include, a selection of Spars, Food Lovers’ Markets and various butcheries, biltong shops and up-market delicatessens. Following our recent Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) accreditation through Swift Silliker (March 2015) our product is being launched throughout the Food Lovers Market & FreshStop chain on a national basis.
Squirrel’s are exhibited and sold at twenty-seven retail and trade shows. This has been an extremely successful undertaking with more and more show organizers contacting us to attend their shows. Some of the more popular events are:
- Decorex (All provinces)
- Good Food & Wine Show (Jhb & Durban)
- ECR House & Garden Show - Durban
- The Royal Agricultural Show
- Eastern Bridal Fair
- The Souk
- The Sunday Tribune Garden Show
We currently operate permanent kiosks at the following locations:
- Chatsworth Centre - Durban
- Galleria Mall – Amanzimtoti
They are proving to be successful and very well received by the public. We would like you to consider granting a similar concession to rent permanent kiosk space. We require a minimum of space of 3m x 3m or 4m x 2m. We believe that this is an ideal way to make our product available to our customers who visit the mall.
